UFile for Windows claims you can use it for 4 "Modest Income Taxpayers" but nowhere can I find what that means!

The online version if free for low income users (less than $20,000) is modest the same as low?

For UFile for Windows, "Modest Income Taxpayers" is for returns with a total income <= $25,000.

Two questions:

1. Is this total income <= $25,000 rule also applicable to UFile for Windows for the 2016 tax year?

2. Does "total income" refer to all kinds of income, for example to university scholarships?

Hello

  1. The total income <= $25,000 rule is applicable to UFile for Windows 2016.
  2. Yes, it checks the line 150 of the Federal return in order to determine the total income.
