Quebec Spouse Rejected " Change of Address"

Quebec Netfile for spouse rejected because of change of address. Ufile asked me for a Notice of Assessment # for my Quebec Netfile, but does ask for spouses return. The problem is in the software as the main user gets the address info and the spouse only gets a checkbox for "same as spouse". The software does not see the spouse address as a new address. So when we Netfile spouse return, Ufile sees spouse address as not being a new address and does not give the box for Assessment # for Quebec. Please Help

Error is T3BBAS22

Hello Buffster,

In order to have the field to enter the notice of assessment for your spouse, please follow these steps:

1. Modify the data in the spouse file by saying that the Spouse’s Address was different from the Family Head under Identification.

2. When you are prompted to enter the Spouse’s Address, under current address for the spouse, simply answer ‘’Yes’’ to the question ‘’Your address changed since last year’s return?’’

3. And then return to the original question above and enter that the Spouse’s Address was NOT different from the Family Head (i.e. the Spouse’s Address which was just entered will be deleted).

4. When you re-calculate the Return the desired results will be obtained.

Thank you for your prompt and correct answer.

Actually, I returned in the software and found this exact way of doing it before coming back to find that you had given me the answer.

Was going to advise everyone with this problem to do the same thing.

So once again, thank you.

PS..In future updates the software should transfer the checked box to the spouses return automatically. If spouse living with Head, and Head moved...spouse moved too.

Thank you

Thanks to both of you for this. It helped solve my problem. I wanted to document my twist: we both moved together since the last return but had both already updated our addresses with MRQ so I had left blank the question as to whether I had moved. It accepted my return but not my wife's. Following step 1. above I saw that the software had automatically put Yes to whether we had moved, presumably because it knows the address was different to last year. So I changed it to No, recalculated the return and Netfiled successfully.
