why won't tradespeople tool expenses show up on line 229?

I have entered the description and cost of the tools in the "eligible tools" area of employment expenses and completed the T2020 indicating that the person has to pay their own expenses and ticked the box that the person is a tradesperson required to purchase their own tools. Yet the cost of the tools won't carry over to other employment expenses at line 229. Any idea why??? Thanks!!

If you are a tradesperson and wish to enter your eligible employment expenses regarding the purchase of tools, please follow the steps below:

1- In the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", select "Interview setup" and on the page on your right, choose the "Employment and other benefits" icon, check the box for "Employment expenses" and click "Next" at the bottom of the page.
2- Return to the "Left side menu on the Interview tab" and select the "Employment expenses". On the screen on the right, choose the line entitled "Eligible employment expenses for a tradesperson", and click on ''Next'' at the bottom of the page.
3- On the page that is generated, entitled "Eligible employment expenses for a tradesperson" and enter the relevant information, and click "Next".
4- A new page will be created called "Trade tools expenses", click on the "+" sign and the screen titled "Trade person's tool expenses" enter the information on the tool that you have acquired in the tax year.
5- If you want to add other tools, return to the "Eligible tools" and repeat the process.
6- The employer must complete Federal Form "T2200 - Declaration of Conditions of Employment", as well as Quebec form "TP-75.2-v Employment Expenses of Salaried Tradespeople".
7- Depending of form(s) complete you should complete these form "Employment conditions"  and for Quebec residents "Employment conditions - Quebec".

Keep the original form and receipts tools acquired in the year in order to provide on request to the CRA or Revenu Quebec asks for it.
