  1. Hello I have made a charitable donation in kind of a gift of stocks to a registered charity. As experts on here will know, when a gift of stocks is made to a charity, one does not pay tax on the capital gain. My problem is that TD Investorline has this sale noted on a T5008 silp. So, I am wondering how Canada Revenu will recognise that this is a gift to charity, if I include the T5008 in my income tax? Or, did TD Investing make a mistake in issuing this T5008 slip? I have called them and they don"t seem to understand the problem. Or, they are not familiar with how they deal with stocks donated to charity. any help greatly appreciated. thanks g
  2. Hello Geo and thanks very much for the reply. I have no trouble uploading all of the slips from TD investing. I was just wondering whether I would be permitted to alter them after uploading. From what you say, it seems that i am permitted. thanks again
  3. Excuse me, i seem to have asked a question similar to this last year, I see. But, i still don"tunderstand it well g
  4. Hello First of all thanks for those who created and run this forum. I used cra autofill and it seems to want to upload all of my buys in sells in US dollars for the US trades. I am aware that the CRA wants that information in Canadian dollars. And my brokerage, Td, does have that information in Canadian. So, I am wondering whether there is something wrong? Or, is it going to transfer over to Canadian after it is imported? also, I cannot seem to change this information before accepting it. Some of the ACB"s are wrong, for instance. Also, it lists some stocks as sales that had been donated to charty. So, I would imagine that they shouldn't be there. Will they be somehow elimanated when importedd? Would the idea be to import everything and then change some and delete some transactions once imported> thanks G
  5. Hi I thought I had posted this earlier but it doesn't seem to be here. So, please forgive me if I missed it and this is the same question twice. But, the problem I have is that when CRA uploads my tax information from BMO investorline, it uploads the American stock buys and sells in US dollars. I have always filed in Cdn dollars before, converting US to Cdn. Is there any way to get the US stock buys and sells in Canadian dollars by CRA? I could do it manually but that kind of defeats the idea of automatic uploading, Appreciate greatly any advice.\ G
