    Auto-Fill Issues

I just tried Auto-Fill with uFile for Windows but I've had multiple issues. Yesterday, when I was trying to download my CRA data and logging into "My account", I go all the way to the CRA website until I was given the following error screen: I called the CRA and they said it was a problem they are working on but should have it resolved in a short while. I tried again today and got this error message today: I'm not sure why it says that "to use this service you must first register as a representative"...?? I am doing my own taxes from "my account" ??? any ideas anyone?

  5. Our boy's trust funds are an inheritance from their late aunt that they can collect when they turn 18. My wife and I cannot touch the principle or the interest, and the trustee asks for a report on the trust funds annually. So I should enter both T5's in each of the corresponding boy's incomes within UFile? It looks like I should do it this way...

    RRSP claim, HBP...

So in the "HOME BUYERS PLAN" data fields screen I fill in: Line #1 titled "RRSP home buyers' plan repayable balance a the start of 2012" - I enter "$300" Line #2 titled "HBP amount that should be repaid in 2012(on HBP statement from CRA)" - I enter "$100" Line #3 titled "Amount of RRSP contribution designated as your 2012 HBP repayment" - I enter "$0" Do I have it correct?

    RRSP claim, HBP...

Thanks for the help!! Ok I understand what you are saying. So what do I enter in these RRSP/HBP data fields in UFile? The CRA website states that: "If you do not repay the amount you have to repay for the year, you have to include it as RRSP income on line 129 of your tax return. The amount you include on line 129 is the minimum amount you have to repay as shown on your Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) Statement of Account. Your HBP balance will be reduced accordingly." On a side note, did you see my post titled "Reporting Trust fund income (T5)?" under "Tax Questions"/"Reporting Income"? http://community.ufile.ca/index.php?/topic/55-reporting-trust-fund-income-t5/. Any advice on this??

    RRSP claim, HBP...

We have a $2400 spousal RRSP for my wife, and I have no RRSP contributions in my name (just a spousal RRSP)... can someone help me fill in the following fields correctly? Here is a couple screenshots, correct my entries please: My data entry: My wife's data entry: Does this make sense what I'm asking? I hope so...
  9. I want to make sure that I enter this correctly into UFile... Anyone have any advice on this?

    RRSP claim, HBP...

This is not what I'm asking. I do not have any unused RRSP contributions from other years. For tax years 2011 or 2012 I didn't have any RRSP contributions at all in my name, just as a spousal RRSP for my wife (we were told by our banker/investor this is the best way to reduce tax load). So how do I enter this info correctly into uFile for our situation? I need to make an annual $100 re-payment to my RRSP under the HBP (and my wife needs to make a $80 re-payment as well)... how do I do this in uFile? If I don't have any re-payment to my RRSP, I have to claim it as income - this I understand. I just need to make sure I enter it correctly in uFile. Know how I accomplish this?

    RRSP claim, HBP...

Two questions: My wife and I are part of the HBP and have been re-paying our RRSP annually $100 for myself and $80 for my wife. How do I enter these amounts? I hope I have it entered correctly. I annually invest $2400 into a spousal RRSP for my wife but do not invest anything in my name (We were advised by our banker to do it this way since my wife is a stay-at-home mom and has little income)... how do I enter this info correctly into uFile? How does this jive with our HBP talked about in #1? Any help or advice would be great. I haven't had the CRA knocking on my door about it so I am hoping I am claiming and filing correctly.
  12. I have battled this issue for a few years now and I still don't know how I claim this amount. Both of my sons (both under 10 years old) have trust funds (in a GIC) that they have gained interest on for the last three years. We receive two T5's "Statement of Investment Income" that tells us in box 13 "Interest from Canadian Sources" an amount, in trust for our boys. I have called the CRA about it and one agent says that my wife and I have to claim these T5's on our returns, yet another agent claims that my sons claim the amount. Do I state in uFile that my boys have income to declare and then list the T5 in their returns?? Does this make sense what I'm asking? It makes no sense that my wife and I claim income for our boys that we have not received any $$ from as yet (and we will never get, our boys will)... in the end our boys will get the money from their trust funds and my wife and I will have to pay the tax on their interest each tax year?? huh?
