Hi, I'm filling out a return for myself and my daughter. My daughter has an amount for the WITB line 453 that she is not eligible for. She is a full-time student. I've filled in her education amounts, so I don't know why she's getting this result. I can't find a way to remove it. I've written to customer service and the response I got was that if she's not eligible, the programme won't say she is. ???? Obviously not. Is it because her father (parent not processed) will claim the amounts? If so, what do I do? This is the last thing I need to do on my taxes!! Hope someone can help. Thanks. EDIT: I figured out that I had to fill in all the details re. amounts and months in school from the federal receipt, even though I am not claiming it. I can't seem to erase this post.
I just finished my girlfriends taxes and she was eligible to receive the WITB. She had no knowledge of the WITB and after speaking to her she had never received the WITB since she started working about 3 years ago. I began looking at her prior year information and she was entitled to the WITB for the past 3 years. Is it possible to obtain this retroactively?
Before I file with Ufile I cross-reference with another program. Everything is the except same except line 453. I even did schedule 6 manually and Line 453 was the exact value as the other program. With Ufile it says that I should get a 1,700 tax credit which is extremely high, I don't mind of course if that is correct, but it's just not possible, it's extremely high. Is there a way I can verify how Ufile calculated lined 453?
