  1. Hi, I have been using to file my tax since 2012, everything was good. This year I have a difficult situation, I moved from Montreal to Toronto for a new job. As I understand, I need to file the tax as an Ontario resident. In Quebec, I was a postdoc research fellow and I receive a stipend which is taxable for federal but exempted for Quebec. I received a T4A and a RL1 respectively. In Ufile, I tried putting my T4A amount there (there is no separate form for Quebec), and in the final calculation, I was required to pay Ontario provincial tax (around 5-6k) for this amount. This doesn't make sense since I received the fellowship in Quebec when I was a Quebec resident so I don't think I have to pay the Ontario portion. Does anyone know if there is a way to input the amount so I can avoid being "double" taxed? Thank you
  2. Filing Quebec tax from the UK

Hi, I have recently filed my Federal return but now need to file my quebec return. I moved in April 2016 back to the UK. I had previously made a tax return using HR Block. But I was having issues with their online system due to the move back to the UK. I did see somewhere on here that I should state quebec as my residence for filing for the QC return. Is this right? A company can do the filing for me but want to charge 15% of the refund. Which is around $190 Any advice would be great. Thanks B.
  3. Child tax return

After finished my tax return, UFile online gives a message that my kids do not need to fill the federal return. Is this mean that they need to fill the Quebec return ? I looked for more information and i saw that my children have a Quebec return filled by UFile. But they do not have any revenue at all, only some medical expenses and transport expenses (they have 14 and 7 years old). Do I need file a Quebec return for them ? Thank you.
  4. Any chance of seeing an update with removal of the Quebec Health Contribution, following yesterday's budget announcement?

  6. Greetings I have to write here because after MORE THAN A WEEK technical support, named John, has not been capable of read my e-mails, and I'm really frustrated because we are at 5 days before dead line, Ive already payed the online declaration to UFILE and for the moment, the technical support and customer support HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE I can't Netfile my Quebec return. This is the message I receive: You cannot currently NetFile your Quebec return. Please review the following reasons, and make corrections when possible. If an (*) appears at the end of an explanation below, it denotesa NETFILE exclusion (i.e. your return cannot be transmitted). Line 445 of the Quebec TP1 requires a value that corresponds to line 107 or to line 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, or 40 of Schedule L. I haven't filled nor received an Schedule L. I havn't had an income from self employment. This error continues after erasing and re filling my T4's received. For more than a week, I have been in touch with a Tech service, John, that only gave randome copy-paste answers. with more than 10 mail communications, this tech support can't follow the conversation, ask the same question again and again and again. Do not give answers, do not follow previous e-mails, but open new ones and start over asking for a file as if I made the tax declaration with windows. I explained several times that my tax declaraion was made online. IT doesnt matter, the tech support will ask again for the same file no matter how many times I told him that my declaration was made with Im very frustrated with this situation. Do anyone have the same problem? Anyone from tech support can finally see whats wrong?
  7. Hello, My friend works in Ottawa Ontario and lives in Gatineau Quebec. His Ontario employer gave him a T4 (with CPP deduction) slip and Relevé 1 slip. In Ufile 2015, after I input Quebec as his Dec 31 address, there are only 4 options from the T4 box. T4 and RL-1 income earned in QC with QPP contributions T4 income earned outside Quebec T4 and RL-1 income earned in Quebec with CPP contributiions T4E- employment insurance and other benefits My question is which option is correct to enter both T4 and Relevé 1? If I choose option 2, there is no place to input Relevé 1 information (box A and J for private health insurance). If I choose option 3 to enter both T4 and RL-1, the default working province is Quebec which is wrong, it should be Ontario. For 2014 version, there is an option of "T4 and RL-1 with CPP contributions''. I was able to enter both at one place. Is it a software problem for 2015 version? Please help, thanks!
  8. Schedule P (Quebec) is not picking up spouse income when calculating the "Family income". Schedules B and C calculate the "Family income" correctly. The type of information I provide about my spouse is "Net income only". Using Version Ser/: 274700 Anyone facing the same issue? Any workarounds?
  9. you entered child care expenses without including the valid SIN or identification number of the person who received the payments.
  10. My spouse is non-resident and has no SIN number. I was able to process her status as non-resident and generate her basic personal tax credit which was transferred to my return (her declared revenue is $0) for the federal return. I am unable to generate a Quebec return for her since her domicile is out of Canada and the system does not seem to process "non-resident" for Quebec. I therefore do not benefit from her basic personal exemption on the Quebec return but only on the federal return. I would appreciate any guidance on how to generate a provincial return for my spouse given these conditions. Thanks
