Does any of you wise and gentle people know how to apply for the federal credit that will compensate Ontario tax payers for the stupidity and shortsightedness of the Ford government that refused to participate in "carbon pricing" to save the environment? Is there a way or method to do this with UFile for 2018 already? Thank you!
  2. I am using UFile 2018 for Windows and I cannot find how to enter the amount contributed to a provincial political party in Quebec? When I go to the 'Quebec tax credits' list and add 'Quebec line 414 - Tax credit for contributions to authorized Quebec political parties' it only asks for the amount of contributions made to a municipal party or candidate. Where do we enter contributions made to a Quebec provincial party or candidate? Thanks, Tom

    Caregiver Credit

    I have been using UFile for years. I have a dependent with a medical disability and have been claiming and receiving the caregiver credit. I carried forward the information from 2016. The caregiver credit for 2017 is not being applied to my return. My personal and income information is very similar and I should still be getting this credit. I have tried everything and have not been able to have the program apply the credit. Please Help!!

I'm claiming my mother for the Caregiver Amount (NOT the Primary Caregiver Amount) and have added her information to my file as a dependant but the program is not calculating the manitoba personal tax credit of 195 or the age amount of $113. Her income is $15,000 but her provincial credits page is blank. On my return, the caregiver amount is properly calculated. The error message on her results page says the provincial credits are not being claimed as her income is too high, which i know is incorrect as she would need at least 19,500 to lose her personal credit let alone her age amount. Please advise. Thank you.
  5. Hi, This is my first year using Ufile and so far it has been smooth sailing! I had a question about the Tuition and Education section. I graduated in 2011 and started working in 2012 so for my 2012 tax return, I had Federal as well as Provincial Tuition carry forward I could use. I entered the Federal and Provincial carry forward amounts into the "Unused tuition and education amounts from prior years" as per the instructions and used the "MaxBack" option under "Treatment of unused tuition, education and textbook amounts". When I go to the summary, only the federal amount is applied. Why isn't the provincial amount being used as well? Will this mean that the Federal amount is being applied but the Provincial will be carried forward? Thanks!
