Hi, My father passed away in Jan. 2020. I would like to use Ufile to start his 2019 taxes. I already have a ufile account, but it is for my family (my father was on his own so not a dependant) and it is tied to my email address. If I want to buy ufile package to use for my father, do I have to use another email address? Thanks, Alvin
My husband passed away in 2015, resulting in a change in my marital status. On my return, I selected the option that says "Taxpayer became widowed" and put in the date of death. On my husband's return, I checked off the option that it was a return for a deceased person and put in the date of death. However, when I click on "Review", Ufile keeps tellin gme that it cannot calculate a tax return for me becuase there was an error for my husband. For my husband, it says "You reported a change in marital status during the year which is incompatible with your marital status on December 31, 2015. Please advise. Thank you.
I filed a couples return in 2014 including the family head's final 'deceased' return. When carrying the info forward for the 2015 return for his wife, I couldn't find any way to delete the family head - and can't complete the spouses return without first deleting the old family head. How do I do this? - all the info for the widow has already been entered.
How can I carry forward information from a previous year after the head of eh households has passed away and does not need a tax return this year (the deceased claim was last year). I don't see an option to delete or change the "head of the family". Why is this not an option? You've never had a customer pass away?
