Does anyone know how I can claim previously-unclaimed 2016 RRSP contributions for the 2017 year as a repayment under the Home Buyer's Plan in ufile, and if so, how I should do it? I have some unclaimed room from the 2016 tax year (made in February 2016) and would like to claim it for my 2017 HBP repayment if possible.Based on the schedule 7 it looks like I can claim contributions made between January 2016 and March 2017 but I don't know how to do this in ufile.(https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/cra-arc/migration/cra-arc/E/pbg/tf/5000-s7/5000-s7-fill-16e.pdf)
Hello, I have a problem with filling my tax forms this year and I would be thankful if some helps me here. I have to repay $1250 to my HBP and I contributed $2000 in January for repaying HBP. I understand that in filling my tax forms I need to include $2000 as the RRSP contribution and then designate $2000 as HBP repayment. But my RRSP deduction limit is zero (due to pension adjustment). I wonder if it is okay to contribute $2000 for zero RRSP deduction limit and then use this as HBP repayment. Thanks.
Hi, I have a question regarding paying back to Home Buyers Plan. During our first home purchased we withdraw money from my RRSP and my Spousal RSP accounts. Now I am quite clear about paying back my RRSP. However, I am bit confused on how to repay the Spousal RSP. Should I open another Spousal RSP account and contribute to that or my wife should open her RSP account and contribute to that one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Two questions: My wife and I are part of the HBP and have been re-paying our RRSP annually $100 for myself and $80 for my wife. How do I enter these amounts? I hope I have it entered correctly. I annually invest $2400 into a spousal RRSP for my wife but do not invest anything in my name (We were advised by our banker to do it this way since my wife is a stay-at-home mom and has little income)... how do I enter this info correctly into uFile? How does this jive with our HBP talked about in #1? Any help or advice would be great. I haven't had the CRA knocking on my door about it so I am hoping I am claiming and filing correctly.
