  1. Last year I used an accountant to do my taxes because I had a house sale and didn't want to mess things up doing it on my own. Now I'm doing this years return again in Ufile. How do I get last years return into Ufile? Do I just have to type all the information from my T1 into 2016?
  2. Has anybody done this successfully?
  3. For the 2011 tax year, My husband and I each completed a completely separate ufile return. This screwed up our deductions as ufile claimed deductions for both of us that we were not otherwise eligible for. For 2012, we have each finished a separate 2012 tax return on ufile. How do we combine our separate files so that all the information is in one consolidated ufile and it calculates all the deductions properly?
  4. I logged in to UFile Online to start working on my 2013 return and there's no information in there at all. I've been using UFile Online for a few years so I expected all my data to appear. The Import section under Account only seems to have options to import from sources other than UFile Online. How do I get all my 2012 information to carry forward into 2013?

    Carry forward

I'm a student and just wondering if i'm using the free account, does the carry forward amount show up into the next year automatically or would i have to do it manually?
  6. I think I'm experiencing a bug in the import of my 2013 tax return, and would like to know whether the workaround steps I've taken are appropriate. Any help would be much appreciated! In 2013, I overcontributed both to my RRSP and to my spouse's, and so I am bringing forward unused contributions in 2014. I used Ufile for Windows in both 2013 and 2014, and so I got Ufile to carry forward my u13 file to begin. Before I enter any more information, the 2014 RRSP Schedule shows my unused spousal contributions carried forward correctly, but not my own RRSP's unused contributions. I then proceed to enter my unused contributions from line (B) on my 2013 notice of assessment (a number which accounts for my overcontributions to both my and my spouse's RRSP). The RRSP Schedule then sums that number with the carried forward number, effectively double-counting my unused spousal contributions from 2013. This looks like a bug. Unfortunately, I cannot find any way to delete the carried forward spousal contribution or supply the missing carried forward RRSP contribution. My workaround is to subtract the unused spousal contribution from line (B) and enter that difference as my undeducted contributions in the "RRSP contributions, limits" form. Can anyone confirm whether what I'm seeing is a bug or my misunderstanding of how the software is intended to work? Also, have I picked a good workaround or should I try to solve this another way? Thanks!
  7. Hi, I've been using UFile for a few years now. After NetFiling my 2012 taxes for my spouse and I, they were reassessed by CRA to our benefit. My 2012 UFile tax return only has the original numbers and not the revised/reassessed figures that we were provided back by CRA on their Notice of Reassessment. I am trying to use the same figures as those supplied back by CRA on their Notice. But currently if I import the 2012 file, I am using incorrect data as there are possibly some carryovers from 2012 that will assist in our 2013 tax return and I want to ensure I capture those. Some of the revised numbers are line 350 Total Federal non-refundable tax credits and line 6150 Total Ontario non-refundable tax credits and are a result of a disability credit. I have 2012 and 2013 UFile software both loaded still. I've tried to adjust these numbers in the 2012 Tax return interview but have not been successful in even determining where I can actually make those adjustments. I've also thought that maybe if you adjusted the numbers in the 2013 software under Prior Year Comparative Information, that would tweak the imported 2012 tax file. That was not successful either. In cases where tax returns are reassessed after the tax return has been submitted, how does one adjust their 2012 numbers prior to importing to the new year or conversely, adjust the numbers after they have been imported? Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated and of course, if there is any other information which may assist in solving this, please advise. Thank you in advance I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium on a 64 bit computer. KPS
