  1. I posted this in another section of forum but noticed it is more active here. So please don't hurt me for the double post. ================================================================================================ I believe this is a bug, as I am not getting any errors. I filed both mine and my spouse's federal returns successfully (Status: File Accepted). But when I get to the Quebec Netfiling part, my status says Ready for filing and my spouse's status says File rejected. I got this error because I initially put in the incorrect NOA number for my wife, but corrected it after and it was then accepted and I got a reference number and everything for her, but it still says rejected for some odd reason. Now, when I go file my Quebec return, and I input my NOA number and submit, it takes me to my wife's Netfile submission screen where it says that it was accepted at 9:34am. It's not taking me to my accepted screen and my Quebec return status remains "Ready for filing". Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? I've attached a .jpg for your reference.

  3. I noticed online, when entering an amount from Box J on Releve 1, that the ufile claims the amount is a benefit, which is included in Box A. This is correct, as it is the amount paid to a private health plan by the employer on behalf of the employee. But ufile also claims it is a medical expense deduction and will be added to medical expenses. This isn't correct in my case. Luckily it doesn't add it anyway. I do have a box 235 on the Releve 1, that is the amount that should be used for the medical expenses. There was no option to add this box to my Releve 1. I did have the option to add the amount in Box 85 on my T4, which correctly added the amount to my medical expenses. It was all confusing.
  4. Hi, I have been using Ufile.ca to file my tax since 2012, everything was good. This year I have a difficult situation, I moved from Montreal to Toronto for a new job. As I understand, I need to file the tax as an Ontario resident. In Quebec, I was a postdoc research fellow and I receive a stipend which is taxable for federal but exempted for Quebec. I received a T4A and a RL1 respectively. In Ufile, I tried putting my T4A amount there (there is no separate form for Quebec), and in the final calculation, I was required to pay Ontario provincial tax (around 5-6k) for this amount. This doesn't make sense since I received the fellowship in Quebec when I was a Quebec resident so I don't think I have to pay the Ontario portion. Does anyone know if there is a way to input the amount so I can avoid being "double" taxed? Thank you
  5. Hi, I have recently filed my Federal return but now need to file my quebec return. I moved in April 2016 back to the UK. I had previously made a tax return using HR Block. But I was having issues with their online system due to the move back to the UK. I did see somewhere on here that I should state quebec as my residence for filing for the QC return. Is this right? A company can do the filing for me but want to charge 15% of the refund. Which is around $190 Any advice would be great. Thanks B.
  6. Any chance of seeing an update with removal of the Quebec Health Contribution, following yesterday's budget announcement?

    Child tax return

After finished my tax return, UFile online gives a message that my kids do not need to fill the federal return. Is this mean that they need to fill the Quebec return ? I looked for more information and i saw that my children have a Quebec return filled by UFile. But they do not have any revenue at all, only some medical expenses and transport expenses (they have 14 and 7 years old). Do I need file a Quebec return for them ? Thank you.
  8. Living in Ontario, Working on Quebec. T4/Releve Box 16 is empty and Box 17 is populated. There is no place to put Box 17 Contributions to QPP? Where does Box 17 go?
  9. Hello, My friend works in Ottawa Ontario and lives in Gatineau Quebec. His Ontario employer gave him a T4 (with CPP deduction) slip and Relevé 1 slip. In Ufile 2015, after I input Quebec as his Dec 31 address, there are only 4 options from the T4 box. T4 and RL-1 income earned in QC with QPP contributions T4 income earned outside Quebec T4 and RL-1 income earned in Quebec with CPP contributiions T4E- employment insurance and other benefits My question is which option is correct to enter both T4 and Relevé 1? If I choose option 2, there is no place to input Relevé 1 information (box A and J for private health insurance). If I choose option 3 to enter both T4 and RL-1, the default working province is Quebec which is wrong, it should be Ontario. For 2014 version, there is an option of "T4 and RL-1 with CPP contributions''. I was able to enter both at one place. Is it a software problem for 2015 version? Please help, thanks!
  10. Greetings I have to write here because after MORE THAN A WEEK technical support, named John, has not been capable of read my e-mails, and I'm really frustrated because we are at 5 days before dead line, Ive already payed the online declaration to UFILE and for the moment, the technical support and customer support HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE I can't Netfile my Quebec return. This is the message I receive: You cannot currently NetFile your Quebec return. Please review the following reasons, and make corrections when possible. If an (*) appears at the end of an explanation below, it denotesa NETFILE exclusion (i.e. your return cannot be transmitted). Line 445 of the Quebec TP1 requires a value that corresponds to line 107 or to line 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, or 40 of Schedule L. I haven't filled nor received an Schedule L. I havn't had an income from self employment. This error continues after erasing and re filling my T4's received. For more than a week, I have been in touch with a Tech service, John, that only gave randome copy-paste answers. with more than 10 mail communications, this tech support can't follow the conversation, ask the same question again and again and again. Do not give answers, do not follow previous e-mails, but open new ones and start over asking for a file as if I made the tax declaration with windows. I explained several times that my tax declaraion was made online. IT doesnt matter, the tech support will ask again for the same file no matter how many times I told him that my declaration was made with Ufile.ca Im very frustrated with this situation. Do anyone have the same problem? Anyone from tech support can finally see whats wrong?
  11. Schedule P (Quebec) is not picking up spouse income when calculating the "Family income". Schedules B and C calculate the "Family income" correctly. The type of information I provide about my spouse is "Net income only". Using Version 19.16.0.0 Ser/: 274700 Anyone facing the same issue? Any workarounds?
  12. you entered child care expenses without including the valid SIN or identification number of the person who received the payments.
  13. My spouse is non-resident and has no SIN number. I was able to process her status as non-resident and generate her basic personal tax credit which was transferred to my return (her declared revenue is $0) for the federal return. I am unable to generate a Quebec return for her since her domicile is out of Canada and the system does not seem to process "non-resident" for Quebec. I therefore do not benefit from her basic personal exemption on the Quebec return but only on the federal return. I would appreciate any guidance on how to generate a provincial return for my spouse given these conditions. Thanks
  14. Hi, I am having troubles finding the TP-1 form that I need to complete my tax return. I am currently getting my income through the SAAQ as I have been disabled for the past full year. I am from Quebec. Thank you very much for any assistance with this!
  15. Hello, I moved to Quebec in 2014 and have now received two T-4's (one from Nova Scotia I worked first and another from Quebec) and one RL-1. The RL-1 has additional values for with Boxes labelled B-1 and G-2 2. The number for Box B-1 is the same as the number in the Nova Scotia T-4 Box 16 and the Box G-2 has the same value as Nova Scotia T-4 Boxes 24 and 26. Anyways I can't seem to find anywhere to report Boxes B-1 and G-2 on the RL-1 slip on UFile online. Where should I report these? Thanks in advance
  16. I have 4 forms from the same employer: Two T4 forms and Two RL-1 forms. The problem is that no particular RL form corresponds to any particular T4 form - (it's like they are for different time periods of the year). However, if I add up the amounts for a given box on both RL-1s, they match the sum of the amounts that are added up on the corresponding box of the T4s. Example looking at Box 14 / RL-1 Box A: First T4 : 44502.17 Second T4 : 20308.65 Combined Box 14: 64810.82 First RL-1 : 62516.14 Second RL-1 : 2294.68 Combined Box A: 64810.82 I noticed in another other post (here) that one could combine the values for a given box in each T4. However in that other thread the user only had one RL-1. I want to verify if there is any issue in 'combining' the multiple RL-1s from the same employer together (so that I have a new combined Box A, Box B, Box C, etc.) Thanks!
  17. Hi, I would appreciate some clarification on inputting the correct data in the boxes for the taxation year 2013 with multiple slips of T4 and a RL-L slips from the same company. Info : I am currently a resident of QC, and I worked in Qc. I received 2 T4 and 1 RL-1 from the same employer for the year 2013. The corresponding boxes of the 2 T4 slips added together are equivalent to the boxes of the RL-1 Slip. The difference between the 2 T4 (except the values of each box) is that one of them has box 40 and box 85 added (Health Benefits) . Questions : 1. When filling the “T4 and RL-1 (Relevé 1) income earned in Quebec” Form, some boxes have a # and a letter example “(Box 20 - RPP contributions (RL-1 Box D)”. Witch one of the slip T4 or RL-1 do I Use? 2. How many forms do I use if I have 2 T4 and 1 RL-1 from the same employer? Appreciate your Time and Energy.
  18. How do I claim the Independent living tax credit for Seniors in Ufile? This credit is for home improvements that enable seniors to continue living in their own home.
  19. Hello, I have a RL-1 / T4A from Emploi-Quebec. 1. RL-1 BOX O : 2000 CODE: RS (financial support) BOX 201 : 1000 (childcare expenses / assistance) 2. T4A BOX 028 : 3000 (T4A BOX 028 = RL-1 BOX O + BOX 201) I entered box 028 of T4A (3000) into the box 028+ of the page, and added a QUEBEC box O with (2000). However, I don't know where to enter box 201 of RL-1 (1000). This seems related to line 40, Schedule C of Quebec according to the slip. Does anybody know about this? And how can I see the details of schedules, such as Schedule C of Quebec? Thanks.

  21. Hi community members, According to this page: http://www.revenuquebec.ca/en/citoyen/impots/guide/presentation/devez_vous.aspx ... individuals must file a Quebec tax return if: You ceased to reside in Canada in 2013, and were resident in Québec on the day you ceased to reside in Canada (regardless of where you were living on December 31, 2013).This is my current situation. I have moved to the USA from Quebec in late 2013, and I entered this correctly in UFile 2013 ("emigrant" page), however when I go to the "Results" tab, the Quebec portion of the return is not showing up. Is this a bug or did I do something wrong? Thank you in advance for your help.
  22. I would like to know how to file my income tax with ufile for Quebec if I have been living in Ontario before Dec 31. When I lived in Quebec and filed with ufile it would show me the Canada and the Quebec returns. Now I only see Federal. I thought I had to file wth Quebec to get the taxes back for not living there..? Any help would be great. Thank you.
  23. Received the following warning preventing me from filing via Netfile: "The amount of Quebec income tax deducted that you entered is greater than the corresponding employment income. Click here to fix ". It relates to severance reflected on a releve 1. I assume the higher quebec tax deducted is on both the employment income as well as the non-eligible retiring allowance. I am an Ontario resident but previously employed by a Quebec employer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  24. For the 2010 and 2011 Window editions (8 returns), the Quebec filing with uFile is not picking up the unused student loan interest I have entered for 2008 and 2009. Schedule M only shows the current year amount on line 48 but incorrectly shows $0 for line 46. This has an impact on carry forward amounts and also the credit claimed on the Quebec tax return. (Federal return seems fine). PLEASE HELP. Is this a software bug or am I not doing something correctly. I cannot move forward without a solution or guidance if I am doing something wrong. I have not gotten to 2012 so I don't know if this situation repeats there. THANK YOU.
