  1. I tried to do tax return for a couple both online try for free and using Ufile disc software that installed in computer. The online Ufile try for free calculated Working income tax benefits of $782.78 as Line 453 on tax return but the Ufile disc software has no Working income tax benefits calculated at all. How can I fix the issue when I use the software to do the tax return? Thx

    WITB

Hi, My tax return says I qualify for WITB, but I do not as I was a student full time. I have not filled out my tuition amounts as I am saving the tax credits for next year. Is there anyway I can opt out of it or clearly state that I was a full-time student? Thanks
  4. Hi, I'm filling out a return for myself and my daughter. My daughter has an amount for the WITB line 453 that she is not eligible for. She is a full-time student. I've filled in her education amounts, so I don't know why she's getting this result. I can't find a way to remove it. I've written to customer service and the response I got was that if she's not eligible, the programme won't say she is. ???? Obviously not. Is it because her father (parent not processed) will claim the amounts? If so, what do I do? This is the last thing I need to do on my taxes!! Hope someone can help. Thanks. EDIT: I figured out that I had to fill in all the details re. amounts and months in school from the federal receipt, even though I am not claiming it. I can't seem to erase this post.
  5. I just finished my girlfriends taxes and she was eligible to receive the WITB. She had no knowledge of the WITB and after speaking to her she had never received the WITB since she started working about 3 years ago. I began looking at her prior year information and she was entitled to the WITB for the past 3 years. Is it possible to obtain this retroactively?
  6. Hi there! Schedule 6 - WITB does not seem to be calculating properly. According to CRA rules I would be considered an eligible spouse for my wife, and she can claim WITB. I was a part-time student last year, and if I fill Sch11 as if I was a part-time student, her schedule 6 has the "Claim basic WITB" box automatically NOT checked, thus resulting in $0 receivable. On the other hand, if I say that I was a full-time student, which is not true, that box in her Sch 6 is checked and she is entitled to $584. Based on CRA Guide and even based on what is described in Sch 6 from UFILE, shouldn't that box be checked in both cases as the type and length of my study program shouldn't affect box 391 in her schedule 6, but boxes 21 and 24? Can someone check this for me? Thank you!
  7. As I understand it, any taxable portion of a scholarship should be considered employment income on Schedule 6 with regards to WITB. I have entered income in box 028. On the Federal worksheet it is shown as a taxable portion, yet no Schedule 6 was produced. Why?
