how to enter when we sold our principal residence in 2014

I'd like to know how to enter when we sold our principal residence in 2014 ?

I heard it should fill T-2091 (federal ) and TP-274 (Quebec), but can't find these forms by Ufile.

Hello Sherry,

 

Only in special circumstances, do you need to file a T2091 and TP-274 when you sell a principal residence. It is not found in UFile.

 

To determine if it should be required please go to http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/tf/t2091_ind/ for the federal form and http://www.revenuquebec.ca/en/sepf/formulaires/tp/tp-274/default.aspx for Quebec.

For those of us that HAVE to file a T2091, how do we do so? I found a post from a year ago that said this form was not supported and that it should be downloaded, filled in by hand, then filed. Is this still true? And if so, does the whole return have to be filed by mail, or just that one form?

The program does not support the forms for designation of a property as a principal residence because they are required for information purposes only.

 

Therefore, you must download them from their respective government websites, print them, complete them, and file them by mail.

You must complete and file these forms with their respective governments by mail. The CRA and Revenu Québec will take these forms into account when determining the principal residence.
