How to recover the data lost on your server?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I filed the 2006 tax return using UFile onine. Now I want to make changes, so I went to your website and opened the 2006 tax return to make some changes. When I changed somthing, suddenly all the data for 2006 tax return were gone on the server.

I am wondering if the 2006 tax return can be restored to the original state.

Thanks,

Haiting

I am not sure I follow, you should be able to access your return as it was when you filed it.

Anyways, to file an adjustment, you can use the following procedure:

On the "Interview setup" page, in the "Other" section, check off "Adjustment request for a tax return that has been filed" and click "Next". "Adjustment request" will appear in the "QuikClik Navigator". Click this option and select the form you need to fill out on the right-hand side of the page.

You can also either contact the CRA or Revenu Quebec to order the form that you will fill out and resubmit by mail or visit "My Account" at the CRA website (www.cra-arc.gc.ca/myaccount/) to complete the T1-ADJ Adjustment Request form online. If you are using the program, you will have to print out and mail the completed T1-ADJ plus copies of any relevant documents.

You cannot transmit a T1-ADJ via NETFILE. The CRA will send you a new Notice of assessment after they have processed the adjustment.

Let me know if this answers you question...

Thank you for letting me know how to file the adjustment.

However it does not solve my problem, which is all the data I input there for the 2006 tax return are gone now on your web site. I am wondering if you can restore these data on your web site.

First, make sure that you are trying to access the correct year in the drop-down menu (since the problem is about taxation year 2006) on the login page. None of your data should have changed.

If you still experience the same problem, the best way to go about it is to send a request at help@ufile.ca. We will explain how to enable us to access your file and make verifications.
