Problem: You cannot currently NetFile your Quebec return.

Recommended Posts

I got a problem when review my returns as below (the same for my spouse):

-------------------
A tax return was generated. However, the errors below prevent the transmission of your declaration.

TAXPAYER NAME

You cannot currently NetFile your Quebec return. Please review the following reasons, and make corrections when possible. If an (*) appears at the end of an explanation below, it denotes a NETFILE exclusion (i.e. your return cannot be transmitted).

The taxpayer is requesting an election, such as form TP-274, with respect to the completion of their return. *
-------------------

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi RichardUfile,

You have sold your principal residence in 2016 and the Form TP-274 was generated in your file.

Please note, that you cannot transmit your tax return using NETFILE, because in TP-274 an election to designate the property sold as a principal residence was made.

NOTE: If you transmit the tax return, Revenu Québec will return a NETFILE rejection (code T3A0023T).

Due to this restriction imposed by Revenu Québec, the tax return has to be printed and mailed in the year the residence was sold.

Please return to the Interview, and under NETFILE for Québec, select [No, I will mail it]. This selection will generate in the Tax return the [Assembly instructions], to help with the mailing of the TP1 return.

For detailed information, please contact Revenu Québec:
