  1. Hi denis,

I was hoping someone could help me solve my issue.  I have 4 rental properties and for 2 of them the wrong CCA amount is being entered on line 9936. For example, the CCA total from Area A, column 12 is not the same amount being reported on line 9936.  This error started with my 2021 taxes and in both years the errors are related to the same rentals, but amounts are different in each year.  For example, for one property in 2021 the difference between amount in area A column 12 and amount reported on line 9936 was $12.33 and in 2022 the difference was $22.20.

I have attached a section of my return to help explain my issue.

Thanking you in advance for any assistance.

    Brad

      Hello Fishman,

To explain how the CCA was calculated, we would require the data entry portion of the file.

Please open a request through this link and we will review.

      Hello LindaW,

If you are getting a reject from Revenu Québec regarding an invalid telephone number, please follow the steps below:

Go to your spouse's "Interview" section.

On the "Spouse Identification" page, answer "Yes but different phone number" to the question “Do you have the same address as your spouse?”

Click "Next" at the bottom of the page.

Enter your phone number in the "At home" field. Leave the other fields blank.

Then try to submit your tax return  again.

What am I doing wrong? Is it me or your software. Need herlp. Thanks

  4. Hi,

At the end of 2022 I moved from Ontario to Quebec.

The return with Quebec address shows around $6000 Quebec tax owing.

When I changed the address back to Ontario, it shows $2000 refund.

I have 10 month employment income in 2022 from Ontario with withhold taxes.

    Please any suggestions?

    Thanks, Kosta

  5. Hi, Please try again since Revenu Quebec was doing maintenance during the weekend. Thank you,

  7. Hi @Farshad, To activate ReFILE, you must first file the original return with UFile and then use the ReFILE service but since her return was already filed in a different way (or account) then you unfortunately cannot ReFILE her return. I would suggest for her to access "MyAccount" for CRA where she can make changes to her return or submit a T1-ADJ form or she can contact CRA by phone to request a change. Thank you,

      Hi @cloudinwater,

Please verify the beginning and the ending date of the business within the identification page and tick the boxes for first or last year of operations under the Income, expenses pages if it is less than 365 days.

      Thank you,

  12. Hello, could you please help with the Ontario climate action incentive issue? My tax return shows a CAI credit of $373 only, but as I'm married, it should be $373+$186=$559 (Ufile not showing the amount of $186 on our tax returns). I tried the "Controls" section several times, on my tax return I chose "Claim" while on my spouse's return, she chose "Do not claim" or "Let Maxbook Decide". Thank you so much!

    1. Denis K

      Denis K

      Hi,

The Government of Canada has announced its intention to deliver the Climate action incentive (CAI) as a quarterly benefit. If you are eligible and including the 186$, you would automatically receive your CAI payments four times a year, starting in July 2022.

  13. Hi @ELW, Normally, the program optimizes the transfer of credits and deductions between spouses to minimize the amount of tax payable. However, with the options offered, you can force the program to give all available deductions and credits to the person of your choice. Remember that if you choose to force the program to assign these amounts to one spouse rather than the other, you are in effect bypassing certain family optimization routines as a result; this may increase the amount of tax payable for the whole family.
  14. Hi @CRS, Both of you can claim the home office expenses for working at home and both of you can choose their own method between simplified and detailed. Usually the detailed method is better for tenant since they can include their rent as expenses. Please refer to CRA for more details: How to claim - Home office expenses for employees - Canada.ca
