Hello. I am trying to find the answer to this question. There are a few people on here that have the same problem, but there is no response, so I don't know what the answer is! Can you help me?
An invalid account or GST number was entered within a business or rental property.
It is correct, and in the correct format. 123456789RT0001
Please help.

Hello, I'm getting this message for my spouse's return "You cannot currently NetFile the Quebec return. If an (*) appears at the end of an explanation below, it denotes a NETFILE exclusion (i.e. the return cannot be transmitted)."
And the reason the software stated was
"The taxpayer is requesting an election (for example subsection 45(3) of the ITA) within their income tax return. *"
Not sure what that even means. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have two problems.
1) I am unable to save files in pdf format without any specific error; just says oops
2) Can`t Netfile. It does not give me any specific error except that Netfile is available after Feb18 (and it already March 12)

Hello,
I completed filling information for my family declaration but at the end I get the message 'Electronic filing errors- mentioning that Netfile tax will be opened on Feb 28, 2018. The date today is March 8 so long after the stated date. What should I do?

Hi Antoine, I noticed my Questrade TRADING SUMMARY 2017 T5008 and monthly statements are in US currency but when I'm filing each trading transaction in the Capital gains section of the Ufile tax refund form, every other section on the form is in Canadian currency of course. Does this mean I have to manually convert each trade transaction into Canadian currency and try to find out what the rate of exchange was on the date of each transaction? In 2017 I have 16 transactions but next year I could have 100+ possibly. If the answer is yes, is this not an unrealistic task? And if yes can I not request a T5008 with Canadian dollar currency?
Another question...If say there were 100+ trades, and there's a limit on the instances in the Ufile setup I believe, then how do I enter the rest of the trade transactions?
Hope you can help me?
Thanks in advance.-
Hello K.I.D.,
If you reach the maximum of the transactions in UFile, we suggest you use an excel sheet to list your transactions for your records and claim the totals in the appropriate sections in the T5008.
or you use the T5008 Trading Summary to report your gains or losses;
• your proceeds of disposition are the amount from box 21, and
• your adjusted cost base (ACB) should be like the amount in box 20 (your broker will help you to determine your ACB and enter the correct amount in box 20).

Hello Jan,
Mac and LinuxUnfortunately, UFile is currently only available for installation in a Windows environment. Some of the new Macs use an Intel chip which allows users to install a version of Windows and then run Windows-based software (NOTE: a program such as Boot Camp, VMware Player or Parallels is required).
Please note, however, that UFile ONLINE, the online equivalent of UFile for Windows, supports Mac and Linux operating systems running the latest version of Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera and all browsers based on the latest Mozilla rendering engine (e.g., Firefox) as well as Safari for the 2008 tax year (for earlier tax years on a Mac, please use Internet Explorer for Mac).
Note: UFile ONLINE has not been fully tested on all versions of Mac and Linux operating systems. We cannot guarantee that UFile will be compatible with all platforms and their respective browsers. However, many of our current users are also Mac and Linux users and successfully use our service to file their taxes online.
You can carry forward the tax returns prepared last tax year in UFile for Windows to the current tax year.

Thanks for the response. However, as I stated, I am a non-resident who works in Canada on a temporary basis. I earn income in only ONE province. Ufile automatically generates a T2203 for multiple province allocation even though I only have one T4 with income allocated to one province. On submission to the CRA, they ignore the T2203 and invoke the non-resident...
