What is confusing for me is that when I am about to pay, Ufile has him in the list to pay for, like you showed: First family member entered in UFile (family head): $19.95 plus applicable provincial tax and GST Second family member entered in UFile (spouse): $14.00 plus applicable provincial tax and GST Additional family members (dependants)*: $8.00 plus applicable provincial tax and GST He is in school and there is a tuition that i paid for him, which is transferred to me as a deduction, as a parent. I am afraid that if I don't pay for him, it might affect the tuition transfer. It is really confusing. If he doesn't need to file a return and we don't need to pay for him, why is Ufile listing him as a person to pay for???

Hi, If a child doesn't work, has no income and Ufile says no tax return is required should I pay for him as a dependent? When I try to pay he is on a separate line with 8$ to pay for him too Thank you, John
