    Mike42 - I could not agree more.

I assume that you resolved the issue. For those who have stumbled upon Mike42's complaint and are in the same boat, I just learned the solution. I had actually put in the incorrect code, an 'S' looked like a '5.' Anyway, I was rejected. I could not clear the rejection - this is because you have to re-submit before the GIANT RED EXCLAMATION MARK goes away. I was waiting to see the green 'ready to submit' and was about to put my hair out confirming for the tenth time that I had typed my NOC correctly when I decided to just go for it.

Recap - if you have addressed the error, ignore the red rejection, agree to the terms again, and resubmit. Eureka! NOC error resolved.

Good luck all - happy tax season.

I had the same problem.  I corrected the error in security code but that did not clear the error.   Followed your advice, ignored the error, agreed, clicked Submit and all is as well as can be expected in tax world.  Thanks so much for your help and to this community for filling in the blanks in the UFile help system.

  2. The problem is that the GST registration number on the receipt does not include the RT0001 portion.  If I add those 6 characters to the number, it is accepted, but is it really now a valid number?  What does RT0001 mean?  Would adding "AB9999" at the end also be a valid number?

I did go to a GST number registration validation site, entered my motel's 9 digit number and it was identified as a valid number and identified the motel by name.  There seems to be a disconnect between what CRA expects as a GST number and what companies are printing on their receipts.

By the way, I added the RTOOO1 to the GST number on the Ontario staycation entry form and it was accepted.
