    I'd recommend checking to ensure that you computer's clock and time zone are accurate. UFile is notorious for not allowing updates if your clock is off by more than 5 minutes.

  4. It's interesting you mention UFile's total reliability, as I've encountered various calculation issues this year that could not be overridden. For example, I'm attempting to input CCA for a self-employment capital expense in the "final year of business", and the software automatically does not allow the CCA claim given that I have selected that it is, in fact, the final year of business. I have compared the identical scenario in a TurboTax product, which allows the CCA expense claim.   5. I too have been using UFile for over a decade, and have had numerous problems this year, including one similar to what's been identified in this thread. The quality of customer service this year is poor. EDIT: It appears the reason (in my situation) that CCA wasn't being allowed was because I had selected "final year of business" operations. When I deselected this, the CCA claim was allowed. For comparison, I went and entered the exact same information into TurboTax, and the CCA claim was actually allowed, even though it was the final year of business. Either a technical error on UFile's

  7. Hey Richard, just a heads up, I'm not UFile staff, but I've been using their software for a decade. When you want to amend your tax return, you have to wait until you've received your Notice of Assessment for the year. One of the reasons for this is because the CRA may have processed a change in a return after you've submitted it. Hi Ayeda, if you go in and look at the calculations for Schedule 11 - Federal Tuition, Education, and Textbook Amounts, you'll see that based on the CRA's calculation lines, if you need to use any or all of your tuition amounts, they must be used, according to the calculations. Unused tuition amounts to carry forward to a future year will be based on calculations from this form.

Looking at the attached image (Federal Worksheet), it's difficult to tell which numbers are pre-filled from the CRA worksheet, which numbers are taken from other lines, and which numbers are based on calculations. TurboTax does an excellent job of colour coding numbers on their tax forms in black, blue, green, and red. Additionally, TurboTax software allows for overriding functionality (say if you were preparing your dependant's file separately, and needed to override line 9 in the attached example). A new development which fixed the issue I was experiencing - for those who like to run the clock on their computer a few minutes faster, it's important to pay attention to the following information, found within UFile's help articles: The time must be set correctly on your computer. The CRA has a time limit for completing the transaction. A discrepancy of more than five minutes between the time on your computer and the correct time is enough for the CRA to invalidate the transaction. The time zone must also be set correctly on your computer.
  12. Long-time UFile Pro user, but becoming increasingly disappointed in their customer service over the years. I understand we're in unprecedented times, however I'm experiencing an "Error connecting with CRA server" when trying to auto-fill returns, and have been experiencing this error all the past week, but only with the UFile 2019 software.   13. I'm only a user of the software, so cannot confirm, but I believe that the UFile team gave up on supporting auto-fill features on their 2016 software and didn't bother to notify the users that they did, in fact, stop supporting this feature.
  14. Hi Rob, I'm a long-time UFile user. In addition to the full T1 General, you bank may also require a Notice of Assessment / Reassessment, as this contains information from your tax return as accepted by the Canada Revenue Agency. However, you have a few options to print the full T1 General that you seek. You can (a) print "All pages" and then discard any diagnostic or irrelevant pages, or you can (b) choose "Selected pages" when printing or saving and select any (i) T1 Federal pages, and any other (ii) Schedules and applicable forms.
