This happened to us last year as well but in our case we did say “yes” every time. We couldn’t understand why we got a larger than normal refund until CRA called and explained the software did not calculate the 50% to the spouse. I have not 100% completed our returns yet but so far when I look to see if the 50% shows up on both returns, I do not see any indication that it is there.
