  1. I don't know. I had mentioned to the agent that I was considering claiming CTC for 2018 or earlier, and that's when the agent told me that in order to do that I had to make adjustment requests for previous years. But if I were to guess, then I would assume that you can claim the most recent of the two options below: 2019, since that's the first year the CTC was offered, OR As far back as you are allowed to make adjustment requests. But again, those are guesses. I can't give any additional guidance as I'm not going to be making adjustment requests.
  2. To assist anyone with a similar problem in the future, this is the response from an online CRA agent. They suggested that I may have to make adjustment request(s) for previous tax returns if trying to make claims for earlier tax years. They gave me this link for more info: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/change-your-return.html
  3. I was wondering if I could please get some advice on the following: Some background: I have an old stock security that has been sitting in my margin account. The stock went bankrupt years ago. Today I will be filing a request with my platform to have the security removed (will take a few days). I believe I had initially paid ~$500 USD for those securities. Based on the price I paid for the securities, would it be worth trying to claim it on my taxes (I assume in the next tax year 2024) to get some sort of reimbursement? If it is worth it, then how do I do that in Ufile? Please be specific on what I would need to fill out. Thanks in advance!
  4. Thank you for the info and the links. Do you know how far back in time we can claim? The info in the links don't specify. We've never claimed, but had paid for courses as far back as 2018-2019, possibly earlier.
  5. Can we claim unclaimed-CTC from 2021 or 2022? If so, how do I do that in Ufile?
  6. OK, thank you. I will ignore this section then. Cheers!
  7. Hello, I was hoping someone could please help me with this question. There is a section "Complete this section if you elect to pay Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions" (in the T4 area), with the question "Select the type of employment on which you elect to pay CPP contributions (CPT20)". I thought that CPP contributions were automatic, when you are employed. So I don't understand this section or the question, so can someone please explain these to me?
