Vic K
Filled in Cerb as T4A as required - entered in box 28+... under CERB drop down. But then on messages it says cannot netfile as the amounts in the T4A need to be shown in corresponding self employment business. But even trying that only adds tax and does not eliminate the message
Laura62
I put mine there but it prompts me to add it to line 016 as well. Then it adds the income twice. ??
TheTaxSmith
Hello Laura62. Go back to the Interview setup and look under the Pension Income area. Select the first item "T4A - Pension, retirement, annuity, and other income" and add that slip. Then once you access the added slip "T4A and pension income" scroll down and look for "Other Information". Using the drop down box look for and select the specific line for CERB as well as CRB if needed and enter the amounts. I suggest you also look at the topic: "Cerb issue with netfile"
Horst
Hi Tax Smith. Great answer and thanks. Do you know where I enter the tax deducted at source for the CRB? (ex: $100 every CRB benefit period)
TheTaxSmith
Hi Horst. On the T4A data entry look close to the top and there are two lines. Look for Federal income tax deducted and enter the Federal tax there. Just below if any tax was deducted on a RL-2 (Quebec equivalent of a T4A) you will enter the Quebec tax. Pinball
FYI. If EI was applied for through Service Canada after March 15th it was automatically changed to a CERB application. The tax slip issued in this case is a T4E and the amount of benefits received shows in Box 14. There is no drop down menu item to show it as a CERB in UFile
TheTaxSmith
Hi Pinball. Here is an excerpt from CRA site as to what is included in Box 15 of the T4E. Yes there is no drop down box. Box 14 also includes the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) amounts received from Service Canada. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/tax-slips/understand-your-tax-slips/t4-slips/t4e-statement-employment-insurance-other-benefits.html
