UfileUser13
I have taken Webinar in 2020 for two days and paid almost $900. I have not received a T2202 from my institute as this Webinar was less than 4 weeks in length. Where should I claim this amount in Ufile for Ontario region? I tried entering this amount under "part time education" field under "Tuition, Education..." option and looks like this doesn't make any difference in my tax refund amount. TheTaxSmith
Hi UfileUser13. No T2202 slip, no tuition claim. If you are/were self-employed and the course was related to your business then you have a business expense. If it was taken as a requirement by an employer then your employer has to provide an employment expense form. Courses that require exams or tests can also qualify if they are for a professional designation.
UfileUser13
Hi TheTaxSmith, I am/were not a self employed nor my employer paid for this. I paid this amount from my pocket for my own professional upgrade purpose (Not a designation but a certification program). Am I eligible to claim this tuition fees? Sukhjinder
I ended up putting the exam fee amount in box 26 of T2202. On my original T2202, I added additional line by pressing + on line 26. Hope this helps
