Dee Posted March 10, 2021 Report Share Posted March 10, 2021 I rent a business shop to a self employed individual. Due to Covid the tenant was not able to pay rent for part of the 2020. TheTaxSmith Posted March 10, 2021 Report Share Posted March 10, 2021 Hello Dee. Go to the Interview tab, then down to "Interview setup". Then over on the right look for the section "Rental income". Tick the box and continue. Locate the rental schedule and fill in the data. Yes you can claim the rental loss. Income from rental is based on when you receive the income and when you pay the expense.
