JacP
As a Quebec resident working in Ontario, I have a Releve 1 information slip to report taxable benefit income on the Quebec tax return, premiums paid to private health care plan and also, Quebec income tax deducted at source. I see there is a T4 working outside of Quebec but it does not have the Releve 1 boxes to complete. Where am I suppose to report this information slip? Nawal
Hi @JacP, Please follow the steps below: 1. In the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab", select "T4 and employment income", and on the screen, that appears on the right, choose "T4 income earned outside Quebec". 2. Enter the data from the T4 and select the province of employment in box 10. 3. You may have received an RL-1 slip with amounts showing in Boxes A, J and perhaps in Box E. If so, please return to the "Left- side menu on the Interview tab", select "T4 - Statement of remuneration paid (RL-1) with QPP contributions", and enter the data that appear on the RL-1 slip. 4. Enter the amounts displayed in the boxes of your RL-1. Also, enter $0, 00 in boxes B and I of RL-1 slip. 5. You will note that federal Schedule 10 will be generated as well as Quebec's Schedule R to take into account the differences in rates for both Employment Insurance and the Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP). 6. When you click on "Review" tab, you will notice a warning that reads as follows: ''You have employment income that appears to consist solely of taxable benefits. If you received these benefits because of... ''. Ignore this warning.
JacP
Thank you for your response. I did the above steps. The message I get is "You cannot currently netfile the federal return." If I ignore as you suggest, will I be able to netfile? Appreciate your assistance. JacP
JacP
So I tried to netfile and the following message appears: "Cannot currently netfile the federal return: The total of your PPIP insurable earnings exceeds $2,200 and you have no PPIP premiums (T4 box 55). An entry is required on field 31205 or Schedule 10 field 54388 should be less than $2,000." I have no PPIP insurable earnings and the amount over $2,000 is referring to the employer paid premiums to a private health plan (releve 1 that I inputted under T4 with QPP contributions as indicated in previous response). Guidance please. Thank you.
