This_is_my_question
Have been claiming CCA using ufile last couple of years. Decided to not claim CCA this year by setting percentage to claim as 0%. Noticed this set UCC at beginning and end of year in CCA summary to be 0. Will this affect how the leftover balance will carry over into next year's return? Just wanted to check if this means I will need to manually enter the balance from 2020 in 2022 return instead of it carrying over when I import in the 2021 file. BLSM
If I understand you correctly, the CCA percentage should not change. On the actual CCA page for the asset, there is a place to enter 'limit of CCA to claim'. Put 0 in that box, and it will claim none. I have several things I don't always claim CCA for, or only claim partial, for various reasons.
Trinatree
So if you out Zero in that box will you be able to claim them next year? Like for example, new business , zero income for the year but expenses 25k. Could I have my 10 class 8 cca entries as zero in the "limit cca in this class" box? Thanks. TheTaxSmith
Yes you can limit the CCA. It is an elective claim and can be reviewed each year and the claim can be limited from Zero up to the maximum allowed.
