Worked Down Under
How do you report foreign employment income as a Canadian citizen with employment income earned in Australia while studying there and has returned & working in Canada in 2020
TheTaxSmith
While in the Interview tab look for and click on Interview setup in the left side index list. Look on the right for the section "Investment income and expenses". Select Foreign income or foreign property" and click the blue arrow. Then over on the left index look for Foreign income and property. Click on that. Back over on the right look for Foreign non-busines income. Add the schedule for Foreign employment income. Now for a bit of a wrinkle. The Australian tax year is 1 July to 30 June the following year, not like in Canada which is based on the calendar year. So make sure you place the income in the correct year on your Canadian return.
