YadBanga
I'm trying to use Ufile Online 2021 for the first time. I'm trying to import my existing .U20 file created with my UFile 2020 for Windows.. into Ufile Online 2021 and getting a error screen simple saying "Oops a problem importing your file" and no further details for directions to help correct. The .U20 file reopens with no issues into my UFile 2020 for Windows version so the .u20 file is not corrupt or damaged. Could someone please advise 1) Can previous Year u20 file from UFile 2020 for Windows be loaded into UFile 2021 Online? 2) Any suggestions to resolve? Thanks Yad

Gail23
Hey, @YadBanga To carry forward all the information, it is very important to save in PDF format the tax return of the Family Head from the previous tax year. If you do not already have a UFile ONLINE account, proceed as follows (otherwise proceed to step 10): 1. Go to the following web page: https://www.ufile.ca/ 2. Click on the "Start your return ONLINE FOR FREE" button and click "Create New Account". 3. Complete the form and be sure to check the box "I agree with the Terms and Conditions of the Licence agreement". 4. Click on the "Create my account" button. 5. Complete "Step 2 - Password reset options" as desired, then click "Next". 6. In "Step 3 - Finish", at the bottom of the page, print the information, than click the button "Start" from the bottom of the page. 7. Click "Go!". 8. The tax year will appear in the "Tax years list". Click "LAUNCH!" 9. Proceed to step 13 below. =========================================== However, if you already have a UFile ONLINE account, proceed as follows: 10. Go to the following web page: https://www.ufile.ca/ 11. Log in to your account; 12. Click on "Start" tab located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. 13. Choose the option "Import an existing file" and continue with step 14 below. NOTE: Any information entered prior to conversion will be overwritten and replaced with the data carried forward from your previous year's file. If you have not entered any current year data or have no concerns about your data being overwritten, then you may proceed. If you have already prepared your return, and possibly paid for it, please do not proceed as both the data entered and the payment will be lost. Furthermore, please be aware that the conversion cannot be reversed. =========================================== 14. Click the "Browse" button, locate your 2020 UFile for Windows tax file (*.u20), and click the "Open" button. NOTE: It is very important that you browse to locate your file. This will ensure that both the name and location of the file are correct. You cannot just enter the name of the file. The program also needs to know where the file is located on your computer. By browsing, you will ensure that this information is correct. 15. If your UFile for Windows file is protected by a password, enter your password in the space provided. 16. Click the "Submit" button. 17. The file carried forward will open in UFile ONLINE. UFile | Tax Software for Canadians. Get the best tax refund.
