PattyC1957
My son and I both get this message in the Information section at the bottom of our review pages, even though we did not work from home or do work outside of our employers listed on our T4 slips. "Employment expenses UFile has detected that you have employment income (and/or commission income) but no entry was made regarding home office expenses incurred in 2021 due to COVID-19. If you were required to work from home more than 50% of the time for a period of at least a month (four consecutive weeks) in 2021 due to COVID-19, consider completing Form T777S. Click here to learn more about this tax opportunity UFile has found for you." We do not understand why we are getting this message, as we do not work at the same company, or even in the same city. TheTaxSmith
If your employment declaration states you need to work away from your employer's place of business and need an office you may be able to include a deduction for the costs associated with the work space you use in your home.
