  1. In Interview setup, go to Pension and click the blue arrow. Pick split pension income. Set up what you want there. Before doing this, however, calculate the total tax payable by yourself and spouse with MaxBack. Do the same after setting what you want. I think you'll find that the total tax burden is less with MaxBack.

  2. Some information here:

    https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/change-your-return.html

There should be a CRA refile option near the top of the left side menu.

Investment income is divided by the proportions contributed by spouses. If one provided 30% of the funds for investment and the other 70%, then that is how it is supposed to be declared. Most filers report 50-50 and don't worry about audits. (I confess to doing the latter). The Ufile T5 form has a question about dividing the income.

    • Click Interview setup
    • Scroll down to Common tax deductions
    • Check Medical expenses, disability, caregiver
    • On the left side menu Medical expenses, disability, caregiver will show up. Pick Medical expenses
    • If you have a 12 month year that doesn't end Dec. 31, 2021, also select Last date and fill it in.
