  1. i just opened the auto-save file from last week and it shows the status of the file i did last week. Also if I compare the data on last week's return and this week's return. there is no change in information.
  2. Also, if i go back to the Interview tab, my return shows the option to re-file whereas her's does not
  3. That's what I thought so I modified one of the other three, saved it and went back to netfile and that one still showed as "File accepted". In other words, it did not change the status. It's not a big deal. I just never noticed this in previous years and as far as I can tell, there's no indication that the file was already submitted
  4. Hi, I filed by daughter's return last week and filed the remaining three yesterday. When I went to file the three, i noticed that Ufile reported that my daughter's return is "Ready for filing" when in fact, it was already done. I have the notice of confirmation and I logged on to CRA to confirm. All seems good from their end. Thinking that an edit to her return could have caused that, i tried editing one of the other three but their status remained as "File accepted" What gives ?
  5. No T4 or T4A was provided nor will be provided. Also, no deductions were made. There were no expenses; only her "salary" for teaching the art classes. I entered the amount in both sections shown below and they both give the same results. Does CRA care which one I ultimately use ?
  6. I contacted Support as suggested and they said this was how it's designed to work, based on CRA rules. I suspect that if I did the forms manually, I'd end up with the same result. It would be nice if UFile gave a better explanation or a big warning because regardless of how it's supposed to work, the amount in line 15000 is incorrect. If you look at it without considering the net amount 23600, you'd think you had a higher gross income than you actually did.
  7. My daughter taught three one-week art classes for an art school last summer. Since she had worked there previously as a technician (as an employee), we assumed she was an employee for the art classes as well. When she did not receive her T4, she inquired with the school and was told that she had been employed as a contractor and would not be getting a T4. I'm assuming we have to use form T2125 in this case and skip most of the fields except use her name for the business name, include her income in the "Commissions,, sales, or fees" field, and use the correct NAICS number. The only one that seems to apply would be 611610 for Fine Arts School. Does that seem about right ? I'd hate to have go see an accountant for such a small income. Thanks
  8. No offense, but this feature has been requested forever and it's being passed on to the DEV team just now ? I too am ready to sever my family tax return to individual files for my adult children. But I'm using UFile for Windows and the feature is not available there either.
  9. Yes, contacting support was my initial plan but then I saw that there was a support forum. Understood and agree about the confidential information. The numbers I posted above are also fictitious, exactly for that reason. I might add the in the screenshot you posted above, it appears as if it is doing the same thing. I suspect that the total income of 113117.76 is 25265.26 higher than it really is since that amount was added to your spouse's income but not subtracted from your income.
  10. This is what I mean: My income: $100000 salary + $15000 pension Wife's income: $80000 salary Real Total income: $195000 But Ufile reports the total income to be $198691. It includes the split amount for my wife's income but doesn't subtract it from my income in this calculation I know that the final tax calculations are accurate as you have shown. I was just wondering why the number on line 15000 is inflated.
  11. Hi, I'm doing pension income splitting this year (and last). On the Combined Tax Return Summary, the Total Income for me and my spouse is higher than it should be. Looking closer at the numbers, Ufile does not subtract the amount reported in line 11600 of my wife's summary from my income on line 11500. As an example, if my pension income is $20000, and I'm splitting it by 50%, the total income on line 15000 ends up being $30000 ($20k for me and $10k for my spouse) instead of $20000 ($10k each) The Net income calculations in the section just below are ok and deduct the split amount from my income. So it looks like the final calculations are ok. But I'm just wondering why the total income displayed would be incorrect. Is this a bug in Ufile? Or how it's designed to be ?
