Carrie M
Where do I put a donation made by a dependant? I do not see the 'Donations/political contributions' option under interview section of either of my dependants, like I do for myself and my spouse. Curmudgeon
If a dependent doesn't have any income some of the options won't show.
Dominique
What if there is income? Still don't see the option to claim donations for dependant.
Curmudgeon
Nothing in Common tax deductions in the Interview setup page?
Dominique
Nope, it appears for me but it does not for my dependant. I've looked it up and gone online but don't see why a student/dependant can't claim a donation as I would.
TheTaxSmith
While in dependant's return Go to Interview setup, look over on right for Common tax deductions. Check the box for Donations and click the blue arrow. Look over on the list on left, click on Donations/ Political Contributions, then back to the right and select Dependant's donations and add (+) the data schedule.
