linds Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 I worked for a company and left in 2021 in mid-December. I just received an email from them with my T4 for the 2022 tax year, but I was not employed by them in 2022. The tax slip is a 0 income slip, do I have to input this into my filing for the year 2022? I have entered it into ufile but now I'm getting an error message that says "You have employment income and are not exempt from paying CPP/QPP contributions. You should normally enter your CPP contributions (Box 16) or QPP contributions (Box 17) in your T4 slip". Can I ignore this error, or should I remove the 0 income T4 from my filing? Quote
Geo123 Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 Hello linds, You may either : (1.) Enter the T4 $0 amount in Box 14 and select "Exempt (CPP/QPP, EI, PPIP) (Warning: If exempt, see help.)" OR (2.) DO not enter the slip but keep for your records (assuming there are no other amounts on the slip). Quote
