Alex44 Posted February 20, 2023 Report Posted February 20, 2023 Are we able to claim cost of home renovations in federal or provincial (Ontario)? Assuming the renovation has nothing to do with green initiative or accessibility for seniors. Quote
Geo123 Posted February 20, 2023 Report Posted February 20, 2023 Hello, Only the Ontario seniors' home safety tax credit Quote
RRL Posted April 16, 2023 Report Posted April 16, 2023 For Seniors home safety tax credit, would upgrading a driveway qualify? Drive had pot holes and could be argued as unsafe but might be a stretch. Quote
KrissHolt Posted August 7 Report Posted August 7 The credit is usually for things like grab bars and wheelchair ramps that make a home safer for seniors. When you’re doing renovations, adding skirting and architrave can really boost the look and value of your home and increase the value of the house. They might not be directly covered by home renovation credits, but they’re worth considering. Just keep all your receipts and maybe check with a tax pro to see if you can claim anything. Quote
