QuestionMan99 Posted February 21, 2023 Report Share Posted February 21, 2023 If let's say that originally I am a dependent to my father, and I decide to do my taxes in advance: a few weeks earlier than my father, and on a different UFile account. Would I lose my status as a dependent to my father, if our taxes are not submitted at the same time? Or would I still be considered a dependent so long as my father puts me down as a dependent when he ends up doing his own tax return?
