Rorycanuk
My son is going through peanut allergy desentization. Every month he was given a prescription for peanut powder capsules. Are these an eligible medical expense since he has a prescription. Also, I read epi-pens are no longer considered an eligible medical expense. Is this true, even if we have a prescription? Geo123
Hello Rorycanuk, I could not find these items specifically referenced on the CRA site. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/deductions-credits-expenses/lines-33099-33199-eligible-medical-expenses-you-claim-on-your-tax-return/details-medical-expenses.html You should contact the CRA and mention you have a prescription for these items.
