BC Camper
Why does UFile not calculate CPP on my self employed Income that I have reported. My T2125 has only Income - no expenses of any kind and no CCA. No Assets. There does not seem to be a Schedule 8 created with the calculation of the CPP owing. EE & ER portions.
Papet
Good day, Schedule 8 is used to calculate CPP contributions and should be part of your Federal return. Is your self-employment income showing on page 3 of your T1 return? If yes, - what is your age? - did you receive a CPP disability pension for all of 2022? BC Camper
Yes I am familiar with Schedule 8 and the system does not create Sch 8 for some reason.

Yes I am familiar with Schedule 8 and the system does not create Sch 8 for some reason. Yes self-employment is showing on Line 13500 of T1. $6,484 Net business income Age 71 ... No CPP Disability ever. Yes I received CPP for all 12 months in 2022 and have received it ever since 2012. I have had s/e business income in each and every year since 1998. UFile has always calculated the CPP owing on S/E Income every year. But not in 2022 for some reason. Manually I calculated this on a Sch8 and I should be owing just under $300 for my portion and ER portion but no SCH 8 on the Ufile. Can't call Ufile til Tuesday, so I though I might find the solution here. Frustrated! I am almost at a point where I will just scrap the T2125 and report the income on Line 10400 as other Employment Income then do a CPT20 and elect to pay the CPP on the Other Employment Income. Geo123
Hello BC Camper, On $7,500.00 of Net Income (profit) I was able to generate CPP contributions automatically with UFile (as per below). Please note that at the age of 70, you no longer contribute to the CPP, even if you are still working. https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/publicpensions/cpp/contributions.html Schedule 8 Part 4 – CPP contributions on self-employment income and other earnings only (no employment income) *CPP contributions payable on self-employment and other earnings: $436.00 Line 5 multiplied by the percentage from line 6 Enter this amount (in dollars and cents) on line 42100 of your return. *Deduction for CPP contributions on self-employment income and other earnings: $238.00 Line 9 plus line 10 Enter this amount (in dollars and cents) on line 22200 of your return

You are so right. I guess I should have looked up the CRA rules on CPP contributions - post retirement. That is the exact reason why UFile did not calculate any CPP premiums payable on my Self Employed Income. Because I turned 70 in December 2021. There was CPP Premiums calculated on my 2021 s/e income - the year I turned 70 in December 2021. I believe it stops in the month after you turn 70 which would have been January 2022. Hence no CPP premiums calculated for 2022. Thanks so much for your help. Off to Netfile my 2022 T1. Thanks again
