timc
I was refiling my 2020 return, so I made my changes, and then turned on the Federal Refile Mode option, and then refiled with CRA. I realize now in reading the instructions more carefully that the step to enable the Refile mode is before the step to make changes. Does the order make a difference? In other words, does turning on Federal Refile Mode enable some kind of Track Changes, such that only changes made after that point are submitted? Geo123
Hello timc, In order to REFile you make teh changes after enabling ReFile mode. A new page "CRA ReFile" will appear in the left menu of the "Interview" tab. Select the section from the Left-side menu, then click "Federal ReFILE Mode". 1) Make the appropriate changes to your file. **VERY IMPORTANT! ** You cannot update your marital status, address, direct deposit or email address by using the service ReFILE. If you have split-pension you must mail it in using a T1 - ADJ. 2) Click "Review" tab, then click "NETFILE" tab. Tick the box "I agree with the ReFILE Terms and Conditions and Private Notice". Click "ReFILE my return now!".
timc
Thanks, I know how it works, that's how I ReFiled in the first place. I called CRA. They have the changes I made, despite me making the changes *before* enabling ReFile mode. So my guess is that ReFile just flips the bit in the UI to enable the refile, and the whole package (not just the modifications) gets resent to CRA.
