MG77 Posted April 27, 2023 Report Share Posted April 27, 2023 We purchased a new home and moved in Dec 20, 2022 and the sale of our home closed in Jan 2023. Do I say yes for the question: Did you sell a principal residence in 2022? Technically our sale closed in 2023 but the deal was all finalized in 2022. If I have to report it, is it necessary to put the purchase price back in 2014 and sale price in 2022/2023 and all of the other fields?
