Disability Tax Credit - amount claimed less than CRA allowed?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

In 2022, my husband and I claimed our minor son's DTC on my husband's taxes via Ufile. The amount on 31800 is $10326, however the CRA website states that the amount should be $14044 (https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/segments/tax-credits-deductions-persons-disabilities/disability-tax-credit/claiming-dtc.html#h-3). Is there a way to understand why only $10,326 had be populated for our 2022 taxes?

CRA is currently re-assessing all of my tax returns as my son's DTC was reapproved. How should we proceed next?

Thanks.

Hello Bonrew,

Please refer to the Federal worksheet calculation Line 31800 – Disability amount transferred from a dependant

For example it may have been reduced due to :

Dependant's taxable income from line 26000 of their return

We can also review the file.  Please contact UFile Support so we may review the file confidentially.
Please open a request ticket and submit an anonymous file for review on-line at https://www.ufile.ca/contact/contact-us
