Pension Splitting is not picking up spouses T4RSP entry?

Entered T4RSP box 22 & 30 for my spouse, the Total appears on line 12900 but does not get picked up when I do the Pension Income Splitting. I then put the same values in as a TRIF and the balance appeared on Line 11500 and magically was included in the Pension Income Splitting calculation with a more favourable result. Anyone had this experience and any solutions available.

T4 RSP Box 22 is not eligible for pension split if it is a withdrawal
