  1. Hello BomberFan67, 1 - In the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", click on "T4 and employment income". 2 - On the right-hand side of the screen, select one of the first two options, either "T4 and RL-1 income earned in Quebec" or "T4 income (earned in any province except Quebec)" as per your situation, and enter the information found on your T4 slip in the appropriate boxes. 3 - At the center of the page, you will find the fields to complete for boxes 66 and 67. For "Box 66 - eligible retiring allowances (RL-1 Box O (RJ)" , enter in the field on your right the amount shown in Box 66 of your T4 slip. 4 - If an amount was transferred directly to an RRSP/PRPP, enter the amount transferred to an RRSP/PRPP in the field "Portion of Box 66 transferred to a RRSP/PRPP". 5 - However, if this amount was transferred within the first 60 day of 2022, also enter the amount in the section entitled "Portion of Box 66 transferred to an RRSP/PRPP (From the unused RRSP/PRPP contributions of January and February 2022)" . 6. If an amount is transferred directly to an RPP, enter that amount on the line "Portion of the box 66 transferred to an RPP". 7 - However, if no portion of the amount in Box 66 was transferred to an RRSP or RPP, either by you or by your employer, leave these two lines blank. 8 - On line "Box 67 - Non-eligible retiring allowances (RL-1 box O (RJ)", enter the amount shown in Box 67 of your T4 slip. Note to residents of Quebec: If the amount in Box O of the RL-1 slip is different from the sum of amounts in Boxes 66 and 67 of the T4 slip, click on the "Maple leaf" icon to the right of the line to generate a field for another jurisdiction and enter the amount in Box O of RL-1.

  4. Hello KATHERINEZ, When you change your principal residence to an income producing property, such as a rental or business property, you can make an election not to be considered as having started to use your principal residence as a rental or business property. This means you do not have to report any capital gain when you change its use. If you make this election, you cannot claim capital cost allowance (CCA) on the property. Any income in respect of a property, net of applicable expenses, must be reported for tax purposes. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/personal-income/line-12700-capital-gains/principal-residence-other-real-estate/changes-use/changing-your-principal-residence-a-rental-business-property.html

  9. Hello ROJO, UFile allows to ReFILE your tax return for this year and last year . For the prior tax years you should make the adjustment manually (T1-ADJ). You can use the program to make an adjustment to a tax return that has already been filed. Make sure you have received your notice of assessment before asking for changes to your return. NOTE: We recommend that you keep your previously filed tax return, and prepare separately an amended tax return based on the changes you make. Print this amended tax return and compare it with your original tax return. Take note of the line numbers that are affected, as you will need them when completing your adjustment request. To do so, please follow these steps: 1- On the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab", click on "Interview setup". 2- On the page that appears to the right, scroll down to the "Other topics" section, check the box for "Adjustment request for a tax return that has been filed" and click "Next" at the bottom of the page. 3- Return to the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab", select "Adjustment request" at the bottom of the list and, on the right-hand side of the screen, click on the plus "+" symbol to the right of the form you need, either "T1-ADJ adjust a federal tax return" or for Quebec residents "TP-1.R adjust a Quebec tax return". 4- Select the "Taxation year" you want to correct from the drop-down menu to your right, and then enter the relevant information. 5- For the question "Line number of the jacket regarding the adjustment", choose the one that applies from the drop-down menu. Then, on the next two lines, enter respectively the amount that was claimed on the original tax return, followed by the revised amount to be claimed on the amended tax return. 6- If you have multiple lines to correct, click on "+ Add another" to add additional lines. 7- If you have additional information or explanations, fill out the bottom section. If needed, attach a separate sheet with your adjustment request by recording the necessary information. If applicable, provide also the corresponding line number for the credit. 8- For Québec residents who wish to amend both their federal and Québec returns, in the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab", click again on "Adjustment request" at the bottom of the list and repeat the procedure. 9- Once you have completed your adjustment request(s), click on the fourth tab "Tax Return". 10- Double check to make sure the adjustment request(s) are completed correctly. Then, click on the "Print" icon, choose the option "Selected pages" and on the list to the right, select the pages to print, i.e. the forms T1-ADJ (federal) and/or TP-1.R (Quebec). To select multiple pages, press and hold the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard when clicking the pages to print from the list. Finally, click on the button "Start printing". >>Other topics >> Adjustment request for a tax return that has been filed Please note that you cannot submit an adjustment request electronically via NETFILE. You must print and mail the T1-ADJ and/or the TP-1.R. Be sure to sign your request(s) and provide all supporting documents. Also, please make sure to include a telephone number where the CRA and/or Revenu Quebec may contact you during the day. The CRA will send you a Notice of Reassessment once your adjustment request has been processed. Revenu Québec will do the same once they processed your TP-1.R form.

  22. Hello D E, UFile's ability to absorb downloaded data is a function of computer memory (as well as internet speed and network latency) and the other data in your file. Issues have also arisen when a T5008 contains a corrupted or bad record eg. T5008 with a NULL value where it should not be. Of note, keep in mind that the broker is not obligated to divulge the actual Actual Cost Base (ACB) of your transactions to the CRA; therefore, although you may be able to import the data without data entry into UFile it does not necessarily mean that the data is accurate and complete.
  23. Hello Claude C, Your unique Access code can be found on your Notice of Assessment (NOA) for a previous tax year. This eight-character Access code is made up of numbers and letters and is located on the right side of your NOA. The placement and labelling of the Access code differs slightly depending on the version of the NOA you are looking at, but will always be on the right side of the NOA. On the paper version of your NOA as well as the PDF version in My Account, the Access code is not labelled, but can be found directly underneath the Date issued at the top right of the page. If you are viewing your NOA in My Account or using the Express NOA service in certified tax software, the Access code is found directly under the Notice details box at the top right of the page.

They will issue you a report later. Regarding full capital loss in the T1A or just 50%? : For Stock / Share loss must include the inclusion rate of 50%
