ufile_user999
I have a [105] scholarship, bursaries, fellowship item that is NOT supposed to be taxable income for federal (all exemption requirements are met), but when I reviewed my federal tax return generated by ufile (STEP 3 federal summary), it claimed the scholarship income in 13010 as taxable scholarship income and research grants and there is around 1000 tax outstanding. How can I fix it? Thanks.
Curmudgeon
Did you fill out a T2022 showing the person is a full time student?

Nawal
Hi @txguy, Make sure to enter the number of months on the T2202 and if you are enrolled in full-time postsecondary studies, no amount will be entered on line 13010 of the federal return. For part-time students, an amount could be reported on line 13010 of the federal return. It will be the amount of the scholarship minus the $500 basic exemption + tuition fees. Jsalana
Hi! How do you fix this problem? -How do you enter the number of months on the T2202? or -How do you fill out a T2022 showing the person is a full time student? Thanks
Curmudgeon
You need a T2202 slip and put its information into the UFile T2202. Normally the student downloads the slip from their university online student account.
