LindsayHawker
I’m aware this answer comes a bit late, but I’d like to drop in. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I hope you're doing okay. As for claiming funeral expenses on your Quebec tax return, I believe you can do so on line 37600. But if you need more assistance, it's always a good idea to consult with a tax professional. On another note, have you considered memorializing your wife with a bench monument? It could be a beautiful way to honor her memory and create a peaceful space for reflection. Sending you warm thoughts during this difficult time.

BrysonFernandez
Losing a loved one is incredibly tough, and dealing with all the financial aspects afterward can be really overwhelming. Unfortunately, funeral expenses aren't deductible on your Quebec tax return, so you won't be able to claim them. In case you're still hunting for this info, I have a suggestion. I've recently had to deal with an unexpected death in our family, and we weren't prepared for it financially either. We found some low cost funeral options on cremationsdirect.co.uk that really helped us manage the expenses during that difficult period. It might be worth looking into similar services in your area
Geo123
Hello, The above relates to charges on the succession (estate) and not tax credits. You cannot deduct personal expenses such as: funeral expenses probate fees fees to administer the estate https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/life-events/doing-taxes-someone-died/prepare-returns/credits-deductions.html
Mitin77
Thank you. In Quebec, funeral expenses can be partially reimbursed under the province’s funeral assistance program. This program helps alleviate the financial burden on families by covering a portion of the costs associated with funerals and burials. To qualify, you must meet specific income criteria and apply through the appropriate government agency. It’s important to keep all receipts and documentation to ensure proper reimbursement.
