Alex44 Posted February 20, 2023 Report Posted February 20, 2023 I have health insurance with my employer however they only pay half of it and the other half comes out of my monthly salary. Would I be able to claim the half that I paid in my taxes under medical expenses? Quote
Geo123 Posted February 21, 2023 Report Posted February 21, 2023 Hello Alex44, Enter to medical expenses [Date - Private health services plan premium] - [$Amount] Note Employee-paid premiums to a private health services plan are considered qualifying medical expenses and can be claimed by the employee on their income tax and benefit return. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/businesses/topics/payroll/benefits-allowances/private-health-services-plan-premiums.html malcolmanderson 1 Quote
Loriturner Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I am paying for my extended medical benefits at my work while I am off on a leave. Work has sent me a T4 for 2023, but it did not include any of the medical benefits I had paid. I had to request for them to send me the information on it. They send me a sheet indicating the amount of money I contributed to the extended medical benefits in 2023. I am unsure where to put this new sheet of information in Ufile as there is NO label on it like T4 or T4A. The sheet only states " the following benefits were paid by this employee..." So where should I put this? Quote
clw Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 You enter the benefits paid as you would any other medical receipt; in the medical receipts section of the Interview. Quote
