There is a section "Complete this section if you elect to pay Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions" (in the T4 area), with the question "Select the type of employment on which you elect to pay CPP contributions (CPT20)". I thought that CPP contributions were automatic, when you are employed. So I don't understand this section or the question, so can someone please explain these to me?
