KOL
I am a new resident of Canada in year of 2017. I answered the interview question "Are you filing for the very first time" as yes but I can't enter my date of entry anywhere. When I print out the paper return, the date of entry is blank. Can you help? Thanks!

Ramanjeet Kaur
Hi, Me and my husband moved to Canada in Dec 2017. I was on student work permit and he was on visitor visa. He later applied for open work permit which he received in March 2018. For his tax return, Should I write Dec 2017 or March 2018 as a date of entry to Canada. Please guide. Thank you. bbbl67
It doesn't care exactly what date in 2017 you entered, just that you immigrated sometime in the year 2017, that's all. There's no additional tax breaks to be had if you entered earlier or later.
