Hello JS2, This message is mandated by the CRA as the there is a new program in place this year (FHSA - First Home Savings Account) and the CRA wants people to know that if they opened a FHSA, they must enter it into their tax return. If you opened a FHSA, then enter it into your tax return. If you did not open a FHSA, then simply ignore it. You cannot NetFIle a 2023 tax return as the government filing opens February 19, 2024.

  5. Hello jjno, Sorry to hear this is not the response you hoped for. The ONLINEE version is actually not a file ie.".u22" file, but rather is in a secure data base. This data is readily available at any time you wish to access the data.

The NETFILE and ReFILE services are now closed for the electronic filing of your initial and amended T1 personal income tax and benefit return.   10. Hello chimpette chala, RE : I am getting the same error on the page CRA questions. The issue is with the prerelease CVITP version (ver 27.01). The issue will be corrected in the next release in February. CVITP administration is aware of this.
  11. Hello JulieM, The file within UFile is not static and can only only be modified by the UFIle account holder - not by UFIle or the CRA. The CRA submission is static as is the original PDF file saved. To check if you have been reassessed check your CRA myaccount on line or contact the CRA.

The error 1612 can appear if you try to install the software, but it is already installed. B. If you bought only one software UFile, please remove and reinstall it. To remove UFile for Windows follow these instructions: 1. Go to "Start". 2. Go to "Settings". 3. Select "Control Panel". 4. In the "Control Panel", select "Programs and Features". 5.   16. Hello VLB If you are the designated family head and your spouse has passed away in the tax year, you must account for this by filing a final return for the deceased spouse. To do so, please follow the steps below for your file: 1- First, in the Family Head (FH) "Identification" section of the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", choose "Widowed" to the question "Marital status on December 31, 2023", and for the question "Did your marital status change in 2023?" select "Change". 2- Enter the relevant information in the Current address, CRA questions, Revenu Quebec questions, Quebec prescription drug insurance plan and Solidarity tax credit. 3- Back in the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", select "Marital status change". 4- On the page to the right, for the question "Change in your marital status in 2023", select "Taxpayer became widowed" in the drop-down menu and enter the date of change. 5- Subsequently, enter the information required to complete your tax returns. 6- Under "Senior home support", choose the appropriate option (s) from the screen to your right (If applicable) Then, in the spouse (SP) deceased person's file, follow these specific steps: 1- On the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", select "Interview setup". 2- On the screen that appears to the right, check the box for "Tax return for a deceased person" and click on "Next" at the bottom of the page. 3- Return to the "Left side menu on the Interview tab" and select "Deceased". 4- Fill out the new page that appears to your right according to the information that you have for the deceased spouse and choose the "Final return" option. 5- Subsequently, enter the information required to complete your spouse's tax returns. The program will generate schedule J of Quebec in the file of the head of the family for the home support of the seniors. NOTE: If your spouse or estate has received a RC249 slip, be sure to enter the information under "Post-death decline in the value" topic. For Quebec residents, we recommend that the surviving spouse claim the QDIP (Quebec Drug Insurance Plan) premium. Nevertheless, this remains the individual's decision. NOTE - You cannot NETFILE the tax return of a deceased individual, as per CRA rules. You must print and mail it.

Enter your contribution for the repayment of your HBP at the time of the payment made, either in the period "March to December 2023" or in the period of "First 60 days of 2024 "; 4. Return to the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab" and select "HBP, LLP and other plans and funds". On the screen to the right, choose "HBP Participation in an RRSP's home buyers' plan". 5. On the page that appears entitled "Home Buyers' Plan (HBP)", on the line "RRSP home buyers' plan repayable balance at start of 2023", enter the amount that appears on your Notice of Assessment from the previous year. 6. On the line "HBP amount that should be repaid in 2023 (on HBP statement from CRA)", enter the amount you must repay. 7. On the line "Amount of RRSP contributions designated as your 2023 HBP repayment", enter the amount you repaid to your RRSP, PRPP or VRSP. 8. If you have not contributed to your RRSP, PRPP or VRSP, enter $ 0.00 and the amount will be transferred to line 12900 of the Federal return and to line 154 of the Quebec return, to be added to your total income.   19. Hello NTD, **IMPORTANT : Please note, in order to carry forward a previous year, you must SAVE your tax file to PDF. These actions allow the program to retain your information and carry it forward to the following year automatically. IF No data in file from last year : IF you already created the current year file and did NOT save the prior year as a PDF, then you will have to delete the current year, save the PDF file AND resave the file for the prior year and then restart the 2023 year file.
